- Jaw SurgeryDr. Eisen will consider surgical orthodontic treatment for adult patients with improper bites and those with facial aesthetic concerns that are too pronounced to be addressed by orthodontic treatment alone. Jaw growth is usually completed by around age 16 for girls and 18 for boys. While the majority of growth should be completed before jaw surgery is performed, the pre-surgical tooth movements can often begin a year prior to these ages. Dr. Eisen partners with leading oral surgeons to help ensure a successful treatment approach.
- Tooth ExtractionsEarly orthodontic treatment can also help regulate the width of the upper and lower dental arches, gain space for permanent teeth, reduce the need for permanent tooth extractions, decrease the likelihood of impacted permanent teeth, correct thumb-sucking, and eliminate abnormal swallowing or speech problems.
- OrthodonticsDuring dental school, Dr. Eisen’s background and research in molecular biology, genetics and growth and development led him to explore the orthodontics specialty. Remaining at UIC, he completed a rigorous three-year orthodontic residency. In 2002, Dr. Eisen received his Certificate in Orthodontics and Master of Science in Oral Sciences; he worked as an associate in Arlington Heights following residency and established his private practice, Eisen Orthodontics, in Deerfield, in 2008.
- Invisalign OrthodonticsDr. Eisen is a certified Invisalign and Spark provider and was one of the first orthodontists in the Chicagoland area trained in clear aligner techniques.
- BracesA healthy, attractive smile is a source of confidence and emotional well-being. It's also an important part of an individual's overall health. Teeth, lips and jaws that aren't correctly aligned can result in "malocclusion," or "bad bite." Uncorrected, a bad bite may lead to poor oral function, tooth decay, gum disease and eventually tooth loss. Braces and other corrective procedures can help achieve tooth and jaw alignment and, most importantly, a healthy, confident smile that can last a lifetime.
