- Medical Weight LossSometimes weight loss has no effect on the cellulite that appears on the legs, buttocks, and stomach. Body endermologie® is an FDA-approved procedure that can reduce the appearance of cellulite by providing a deep tissue massage to deep connective tissue, improving circulation, and stimulating the production of collagen.

- Urinary Tract InfectionMedical conditions like allergies or a urinary tract infection may cause unintended side effects. Be sure to tell Dr. Baker about any conditions you have that could complicate treatment before your injection.
- Carpal Tunnel SyndromeA condition that is becoming more a part of the cultural language every year, carpal tunnel syndrome is a pressure on the median nerve that controls the movement, and supplies feeling to, the various parts of the hand, including the fingers and palm. This nerve enters the hand through the carpal tunnel. If this tunnel becomes swollen, it can pinch the nerve and result in numbness, tingling, pain, or weakness. The condition is commonly caused by repetitive motion of the hand and wrist, with one of the primary culprits being the constant use of a keyboard. However, sewing, painting, sports, the use of hand tools, and other factors can cause carpal tunnel syndrome as well.

- Hand SurgerySurgery of the hand requires exact precision and attention to detail. When performing hand surgery however, Dr. Baker is truly able to put these skills to use. - Brow LiftWhile a facelift focuses on giving the bottom half of the face a more youthful appearance, a forehead lift, also called a brow lift, can improve the appearance of the top half of the face. A forehead lift is an ideal procedure for treating deep expression lines and creases on the forehead and raising drooping eyebrows.
- Eyelid SurgeryDr. Baker performs the eyelid surgery on an outpatient basis. Usually only local anesthetic and perhaps an oral relaxing agent may be needed. The blepharoplasty surgery takes one to three hours. After the surgery, the eyelids will have minimal but noticeable scars; these will fade with time. The eyelids may be bruised and swollen for days or weeks; however, complications are very rare. Side effects such as dry eye and sensitivity to light occur in some patients, but fade within about 10 days.

- Neck LiftNext, we begin to define the face by tightening the loose muscles. If you have a significant amount of excess fat, we may perform liposuction or a neck lift to slim the lower face and create a defined jawline. Finally, the skin is pulled taut, and the surplus is trimmed away.
- BlepharoplastyFor many people, the normal progression of age brings with it a "drooping" or sagging of the upper eyelids, and/or lower eyelids that become puffy and droopy. A tired or severe appearance can be the result. Fortunately, the sagging skin causing these problems can be safely and easily removed in a blepharoplasty procedure. An incision is made along the natural curve of the eyelid, and excess skin (along with fat deposits, if necessary) is trimmed away. Any unsightly wrinkles or creases can also be smoothed out.
- AbdominoplastyThere are several types of tummy tuck surgeries that fall into the categories of complete vs. partial abdominoplasty. Dr. Baker will explain the surgical options in detail and discuss which is best for you. The procedure can be performed at one of the hospitals with which Dr. Baker is affiliated. General and local anesthesia can be used for a tummy tuck.
- Nose SurgeryRhinoplasty is simply the medical term for surgically changing the shape of a nose, which may include changing the bridge of the nose, its tip, and/or the nostrils. Rhinoplasty can make a nose smaller or larger, more symmetrical, or more in balance with the rest of the face. Nose surgery may be used to correct an abnormality, a breathing problem, or an injury. In a rhinoplasty procedure, bone or cartilage may be trimmed and sculpted to create the desired structure. If a rhinoplasty sounds right for you, the staff at our office in the Decatur, Champaign, and Springfield, Illinois area are ready to answer your questions with complete confidentiality.

The outcome of a forehead lift (also known as a "browlift") is a refreshed, youthful look. More than one type of forehead lift procedure is available; Dr. Baker can tell you which would be right for you. In addition, a forehead lift is sometimes performed in combination with another facial treatment such as...
- Skin CancerUltraviolet damage to the skin can lead to rough patches called "actinic keratosis." If left untreated, actinic keratosis may turn into a form of skin cancer. During photodynamic therapy, a photosensitizer is spread on a patient's skin, where it will leave normal cells, but remain on cancerous or precancerous cells after 24 to 72 hours. A light is then aimed at the site, activating the photosensitizer and destroying the abnormal cells.

- Occupational TherapyWhen I first saw Dr. Baker, I had hardly any use of my right hand. I was in pain 24 hours a day. I had a previous surgery by another doctor, and complications set in. I was sent to occupational therapy, but my hand continued to get worse. A friend suggested that I go see Dr. Baker. That was the best thing I ever did. Dr. Baker did surgery on my hand in July of 2002. Two days later I started using it and have been using it ever since. When I returned for post-op checkup, I asked him if I would have full use of my hand. His words, "when I first saw you I didn’t think so, but now you are doing so well that I think you will." Best words I ever heard. I peeled potatoes for the first time in nine months. It hasn’t been an easy road, but I will have full use of my hand again.
