Overall, they were great at taking care of my mom during a very rough time for me. I really liked her nurse, Nancy, she was caring and very professional. I would recommend Heart Land to anyone who needs hospice, even though I didn't want to go on hospice at first, but I changed my mind, it really is a great service. The reason I didn't give them more stars is they use a company called Assure for their furniture and equipment. The day my mom was gasping for oxygen, it took them 8 HOURS TO BRING THE AIR MACHINE, she was miserable and I thought we were going to have to rush her to the emergency room. When the guy showed up, he really didn't care and told me that they only had two delivery guys and he was getting there as fast as he could. We then got a bed....if you can call it that.....it was rusty and old, but most of all, didn't work. We called three times to have it fixed, but it never was, then we told Nancy on her next visit, by then, my mom had been stuck with her head all the way up for days. She called and they came out that evening (8 hours later AGAIN) and left without fixing it. I called the next day to complain, I eventually got the CEO and she said it would be fixed right away. Two days later, the bed still wasn't fixed. I called back and talked to her again to let her know and she was quite rude. I finally called Heart Land and they got that company to deliver out another bed, but they were not happy about it, and it showed. I would recommend Heart Land, but not the equipment company.
