I thought that the people at Curves were nice, but I wanted to warn others who may sign up for curves to be careful in reading the contract. If you choose to cancel the membership, you will need to write (letter, email, fax) is fine to cancel and do this 30 days in advance of when you cancel. Even if you do not want to continue after a year, you must write to them. I called them to cancel while traveling and they did not let me know on the phone that I could email a cancellation. Because of this, I was charged for 2 extra months. Be careful when you stop going. They have set it up so that it is easy to pay an extra month or two because you might remember about the 30 days, the in writing, and you might call and not be able to physically go in and deliver a letter. You can email to stop. Do it early.
This facility is clean and well-maintained. I was a member for over 3 years and recently cancelled my membership because I became bored of doing the same workout each time. I think the Curves workout does help people maintain their weight. I think some people can lose weight with Curves if they go 3-4 times each week and follow a strict diet plan. But I never found that this workout produced noticeable results. I think it is a good workout for older people who are used to being sedentary or for people who are severely overweight and are limited in the type of activity they can do. If you are physically active, this workout is not much of a challenge and will become mundane over time.
