My family and I were visiting my mom from out of town in De Soto, Missouri for a couple of nights. On our second night we decided to stay in a more local lodge (Jefferson Square Inn) that had "Newly Remodeled" on their sign on January 11th 2009. Upon check in I asked the young lady if they offered Military or AAA discount and she said no. The rate was $70 per night and they didn't offer anything complimentary like most hotels do. Since we was in a hurry I decided to take the room any way and eat out the following morning. The lady handed me the key and I walked into the room and laid the receipt on the desk and left because people were waiting on me in the car.When we arrived back at the lodge we very quickly noticed the room was not newly remodeled. The handle on the bathroom door was falling off, the beds were being help up by bricks, there were holes in the wall, holes in the counter tops, and cable jacks falling off the walls.
