The DeSoto Police Department works to provide safety and security and protect lives and property through crime prevention and law enforcement. It operates patrol, detective, K-9 and records units. The department employs a code enforcement officer who retrieves at-large animals and enforces health and safety violations in and around residences and businessess. The DeSoto Police Department has a dispatch center that answers police, fire, and medical emergency and nonemergency calls. It supports Drug Abuse Resistance Education (D.A.R.E.), which is an educational classroom program that helps to prevent drug abuse and violence among children. The department offers fingerprinting services and conducts the ride-along program. The DeSoto Police Department is located in De Soto, Mo.
