Daybreak, established in 1975, is a nonprofit organization that provides emergency shelter for runaway and homeless youths. It operates a 24-hour crisis hotline and offers outreach programs, prevention services, transitional housing, life skills education and other follow-up services. The organization s emergency shelter program includes a variety of services, such as meal preparation; individual, family and group counseling; structured daily activities; case management; and crisis intervention. Its self-sufficiency program guides at-risk young adults from 17 to 21 years to lead healthy and responsible lives.
