On the legal front, he has spent more than 10 years serving as a temporary judge for Yolo County Superior Court, volunteering to hear some 17,000 matters including over 1,300 bench trials. He has served both as a Special Master for the local court as well as an Interim Court Investigator handling probate investigations and providing recommendations on matters involving establishment, maintenance, and termination of guardianships and conservatorships. Raphael has been President of the Yolo County Bar Association for over 6 years and is a Master at the Schwartz-Levi Inn of Court, an association of lawyers and judges who share a passion for professional excellence.
