Established in 1975, Darlington County Emergency Medical Services provide prehospital care and treatment solutions for individuals who become sick and injured. It is a licensed Advance Life Support Services, which responds to 911 and other emergency-related calls throughout Darlington County in South Carolina. The department s ambulance staff members are trained and certified by the guidelines set by the EMS Division of South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control. Darlington County Emergency Medical is part of the government of Darlington County, which also operates fire, sheriff, planning, animal control, building maintenance, environmental services, magistrate, recycling, county council and recreation departments.
