Katelyn joined Southside Urology & Nephrology in November 2021 as a PA in Nephrology. She has experience in Emergency Medicine and Primary Care prior to her PA career. She is certified through NCCPA and is a member of the American Academy of PAs, Virginia Academy of PAs, and American Academy of Nephrology PAs.

  Dr. Adkins received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Averett University in 1987, a Master in Business Administration from Averett University in 1992, a Masters in Science in Nursing/Family Nurse Practitioner from Old Dominion University (ODU) in 1995. She continued to obtain a Doctorate in Naturopathy from Clayton College in 2004 and a Doctorate in Nursing Practice in 2011 from ODU. She is board certified by the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) and by the American Nursing Credentialing Center (ANCC). She has extensive experience in family practice, Public health and epidemiology, cardiology and emergency medicine. She joined Southside Urology & Nephrology in 2008 and is dedicated to providing comprehensive care to her patients throughout the health continuum with a goal for optimal health and quality of life.

  Dr. Namrita Baveja graduated from Kempegowda Institute of Medical Sciences in 1996 with B.S. in Medicine and a B.S. in Surgery. She completed her residency in 2006 at Long Island College Hospital and her Nephrology Fellowship in 2008. She is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in both Internal Medicine and Nephrology and joined the practice in 2009. Her professional memberships include the American Society of Nephrology and National Kidney Foundation.

  Dr. Wright began his employment with the Southside Urology & Nephrology on November 1, 2010. He received his M.D. degree from the Medical University of South Carolina in 1990. He did his residency in surgery at Northwestern University Medical School form 1990-1992, and his urology residency at Northwestern University Medical School from 1992-1996. Dr. Wright practiced at Foothills Urology in Rutherfordton, NC from 1996-2010. He is the current President of Piedmont Day Surgery Center. He served as Chief of Surgery at Rutherford Hospital from 2007-2009. Dr. Wright’s interests include cabinetmaking and wood turning. His musical talents include the bassoon, saxophones, and piano. He is married with two children and resides in Danville.

Her clinical experience includes 12+ years of chronic kidney diseases focused on end-stage renal disease (ESRD) and hemodialysis. Outside the healthcare practices, Dr. Powell worked as a chemical engineer and chemist while she was in Thailand.

  Dr. Joseph Carbone graduated from Washington University with a B.A. in Biochemistry and Philosophy in 1989. He attended Washington University School of Medicine where he obtained his Doctor of Medicine in 1993. He was Chief Resident at the Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis in 1999 and completed his Post-Doctoral Fellowship in Neurourology, Urodynamics and Pelvic Reconstructive Surgery at the University of California, Los Angeles School of Medicine. He is Board Certified by the American Board of Urology and specializes in Voiding Dysfunction and Female Pelvic Reconstructive surgery.
