The Danville Fire Department operates several stations that are equipped with pumpers, aerial platforms and rescue vehicles. It also operates a fire prevention bureau that offers inspection, fire safety education and plan review services. The department s captains are members of the Danville Fire Command Officers Association. The Danville Fire Department is a part of the Department of Public Safety, which is governed by the City of Danville.
