Danville City Hall serves as a location for conducting a variety of government functions for the city of Danville, Ill. The Danville city council is comprised of 14 aldermen, two each are elected from seven wards, and the mayor. Half of the aldermen and the mayor are elected every four years. City Council and mayoral elections are nonpartisan. A member of the city council must reside within the city of Danville and meet other normal qualifications to hold elected office. Each alderman is assigned by the mayor to one of two oversight committees.
