Organized in 1944, the Damascus Volunteer Fire Department is responsible for protecting the lives and properties of residents. The department maintains a fleet of fire engines and ambulances, as well as coordinates with local hospitals. It operates an activities center that hosts a variety of meetings, weddings, parties and special functions. The center can accommodate up to 500 people and features an outdoor pavilion. In addition, the Damascus Volunteer Fire Department s activities center assists in event planning.
