Daly City Police Department comprises patrol division, traffic, detective and records bureau and communications department. The department s specialized units include special weapons and tactics, K-9 and crisis negotiation teams, and field training officer programs. Its detective bureau provides follow-up investigations on various criminal matters. Commanded by a detective lieutenant, the bureau comprises of a detective sergeant, full-time investigators, civilian court liaisons, and civilian crime analysts. Located in Daly City, Calif., the department offers a wide variety of services to the residents, including traffic enforcement, neighborhood watch and business coalition meetings. It also offers community problem-solving activities, ongoing police training and several law enforcement functions. Additionally, the department s detective bureau handles specific assignments, such as the investigation of crimes against persons, juvenile and sexual assaults, forgery and checks, residential and commercial burglaries, and auto theft and miscellaneous crimes.
