Located in Dalton Gardens, Idaho, Juvenile Detention, a division of Kootenai County, detains juvenile offenders and offers educational programs for them. It serves five counties in Idaho, including Benewah, Boundary, Bonner, Kootenai and Shoshone. The facility offers a nondenominational church service on Sundays. Juvenile Detention also offers classes on physical education, drug and alcohol, survival skills and current events groups. Its local school district offers a school program that facilitates the residents in continuing their high school diploma or GED.
