I lived in theses apartments for a little over 6 months. When they show you the apartment, it seems to be in good condition for an older building. But after about 3 months, the place started to fall apart. Our apartment literally started sloping down the hillside that it sits on so that when you walked in the front door you could feel yourself walking downhill. They told us that the carpet had been re-laid after the last tenants moved out, but after about 3 months stains started to show in the carpet, which means that the carpet was badly stained and they had used some sort of dye on the carpet to hide the stains, but it eventually wore off. I know this because I have family that are carpet layers who told me that is what these apartments are known for doing. The ventilation system is horrible, and if you don't like the smell of smoke, you better hope the people above and below you aren't smokers because if they are your apartment will constantly smell like an ashtray.
