They have been doing random fire alarm testing for over a year now. They give us notification hours before they start (well after Im supposed to sleep being a night shift ICU RN) and then blame the alarm company for not notifying them. But do they contact said company and do anything about the lack of notification? No, they just shrug and say sorry for he inconvenience. Well Im sorry for the inconvenience Im too tired to take care of your critically ill parent or child and they died because of my error, due to my coworkers and I didnt get any sleep. The convenience of living across the street from work is entirely cancelled out by never knowing when you can actually get sleep in between shifts. This is bad management. A management that cared about all the medical professionals that live here would ensure they knew ahead of time and could make arrangements to sleep somewhere else on days that alarms will be blaring in their bedrooms. The management just got defensive and irritated when I came downstairs in the middle of my own sleep to inquire why this is a repeat problem and continues to occur without notice.
