  Beatty received a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from Louisiana State University. She then received her Master’s in Occupational Therapy from LSU-Health Sciences Center Shreveport. Beatty moved to Dallas in 2015 to begin her career in pediatrics. She enjoys traveling, and spending time with family and friends.

   The DIR® Model is a comprehensive framework, which enables clinicians, parents and educators to construct a program tailored to the child’s unique challenges and strengths. Central to the DIR® Model, the role of the child’s natural emotions and interests is known to be essential for learning. These interactions support the different parts of the mind and brain to work together and build higher levels of social, emotional, and intellectual capacities. In addition to Floortime™, the DIR® Model often includes, various problem-solving exercises. Furthermore, the model typically involves a team approach with speech therapy, occupational therapy, educational programs, mental health (developmental-psychological) intervention and, where appropriate, augmentative and biomedical intervention.

  If individual services are recommended, a weekly appointment will be set up for your child. At times, additional recommendations will also be made, such as further assessment with speech therapy, physical therapy, educational consultant, school placements, or special equipment, just to name a few. We will make every effort to assist with finding resources for those recommendations.
• Occupational Therapy
  For more than 20 years, Playworks under the direction of Sandy Buttine, OTR, has been providing outcome-based pediatric occupational therapy services in the Dallas metroplex.
