Anesthesiologist, Author, Speaker, Expert Witness. Dr. John C. Lundell grew up in San Jose, California the second of six children of an electrical engineer and a homemaker. He lived in Mexico for two years, volunteering as a missionary for his church. After returning, he graduated Magna Cum Laude from Brigham Young University in 1990 with a BS in Electrical and Computer Engineering. Upon receiving his MD Degree from Yale University School of Medicine, Dr. Lundell trained as an Intern in Internal Medicine in CT, then as an anesthesiology resident and cardiothoracic anesthesia fellowship at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem, NC. Dr Lundell served as an active duty anesthesiologist in San Antonio, TX where he trained anesthesia residents and medical students. Before completing his US Air Force commitment in 2004, Major Lundell was deployed to a tent hospital in Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom where he provided medical care to soldiers and civilians. Eventually Dr. Lundell, his wife (Dr. Andrea L Lundell) and their two children settled in the Dallas, Texas area where Dr. Lundell joined a prestigious anesthesia practice. For more than twenty years Dr. John C Lundell has practiced and taught anesthesia. He recently published a textbook that he created to help teach nurses, residents and students about the basics of anesthesia. He enjoys public speaking and has lectured several times on topics relating to his book. Recently Dr. Lundell was asked to be an expert witness in defense of another anesthesiologist. He found the work interesting, challenging and enjoyable. Since then he has consulted various times as an expert witness, rendering opinions for both plaintiff and defendant. His expertise includes many areas of surgical anesthesia---bariatric, robotic, plastic and reconstructive, gyn, urologic, ENT, kidney transplant, orthopedic, vascular and neurosurgery.
