J. L. Long Middle School is operated by the Dallas Independent School District and is located in Dallas. The school teaches a variety of subjects, such as reading, math, science, social studies, English, language arts, and physical and health education. In addition, the school provides special classes in Texas and U.S. studies. It offers various sporting events, including football, soccer, volleyball, basketball, baseball, and track and field. The school organizes several extracurricular activities that include talent shows, dance and music concerts, science fairs, parent-teacher association dinners and open houses. Established in 1933, J. L. Long Middle School provides academic classes to more than 750 students in grades six through eight.
