EXCO Resources maintains interests in the production of oil and natural gas properties located in North America. The company also acts as the operator on some of these properties and, in return, receives overhead reimbursement fees. EXCO Resources puts extra effort into oil and gas exploration and production operations in Colorado, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Texas and West Virginia. The company, which has an ongoing acquisition program, has proved reserves of nearly 686 billion-cubic-feet of natural gas equivalent. EXCO Resources holds interests in more than 5,800 wells. In 2004, the company acquired Appalachian explorer North Coast Energy. EXCO Resources had expanded into Canada by buying Addison Energy, but subsequently sold the company in 2005. EXCO Resources is a private company that is headquartered in Dallas.
