Founded in 1987, Big Thought is a nonprofit organization that offers a range of creative learning programs. It serves preschoolers and adolescents and supports adults, including teachers, parents, caregivers, librarians and mentors. The organization provides a curriculum that includes art to improve literacy skills and cognitive development. Big Thought s creative solutions program includes several workshops and serves more than 20,000 at-risk individuals between the ages of 12 and 18. Its library live program includes culturally diverse performances to increase library attendance. The organization additionally conducts Thriving Minds and Everyday Einsteins programs. Big Thought partners with community agencies, school districts, library systems, child care and recreation centers and juvenile detention facilities. The organization is located in Dallas.
