Prenatal Consultations We offer prenatal consultations, where you may come to our office and meet our doctor. Please try to make your appointment at least a month before your due date. We look forward to meeting you and answering any questions you may have about our practice and the care of your newborn. If you are unable to schedule a consultation in person, but would have questions about the practice or care of your child, you can call and speak to the doctor. General Newborn Care Congratulations on your new baby! Watching your baby grow and develop can be an exciting and rewarding experience. There are, however, many common concerns and questions that you may have as new parents. We will check your baby's growth, development, and feeding and sleeping patterns more frequently in the early months. Our goal is to help you, as parents, learn about your baby as they develop and grow. Well-Child Exams Pediatricians consider preventive care to be a crucial part of a child's total health care. Well-child check-ups offer an opportunity to evaluate and monitor your child's growth and development. These appointments are scheduled to allow the time that is required to assess and discuss your child, your family, and your concerns. Immunizations are discussed and given (if appropriate) at these visits. We follow the American Academy of Pediatrics Guidelines for the schedule of these well visits and immunizations. Typically, well-child routine exams are recommended at 1 and 2 weeks, 1, 2, 4, 6, 9, 12, 15, and 18 months, and yearly between the ages of 2 and 18 years. School, Camp, and Sports Physicals School physical forms are provided at each well-child visit if needed. These are yours to copy and use throughout the year. Additional copies may be provided at a later date for a fee. Should you need an additional visit for a more recent form before your child's next scheduled visit for school, camp, or sports, an appointment must be made. Please check with your particular school to be sure of their policy. Sick Appointments If your child becomes ill and needs to be seen by the physician, please call our office as soon as you know or suspect that your child needs to be seen. We will always try to see sick children the same day we receive the call. Sick children can normally be seen within 12-24 hours. New Patients If we have not seen your child before, we will need a full copy of your child's medical records, including vaccine records before we schedule your first visit. We ask that you arrive 30 minutes prior to your first appointment, unless you are able to print off and fill out all registration forms. then please arrive 20 minutes early. Please bring your insurance card and driver's license or state ID to the visit.
