Dr. Mazloom received his bachelor?s degree from the University of California ? Berkeley where he graduated with highest distinction in the field of Molecular and Cell Biology. He subsequently pursued his medical doctorate degree at Baylor College of Medicine and completed his radiation oncology residency training at the University of Rochester where he was elected chief resident his final year. Dr. Mazloom is extensively trained in all aspects of radiation treatment with expertise in Intensity-Modulated Radiation Therapy (IMRT), Image-Guided Radiation Therapy (IGRT), Brachytherapy, Stereotactic Body Radiotherapy (SBRT), and Stereotactic Radiosurgery (SRS). The goal of these treatment modalities is to deliver a maximum dose to the tumor while avoiding the surrounding normal tissues. In addition Dr. Mazloom has contributed to the field of radiation oncology by publishing 23 scientific articles in peer-reviewed journals and conducting research at the MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas. His publications on brain tumors and lymphoma are used as references for the National Comprehensive Cancer Network (NCCN) guidelines in addition to several of the main textbooks of radiation oncology. Dr. Mazloom has also presented his work at the national meetings of radiation oncologists (ASTRO) and medical oncologists (ASCO). Dr. Mazloom is board-certified in radiation oncology. He is a member of the American Society of Therapeutic Radiation Oncology, American Medical Association, American Brachytherapy Society, and American College of Radiation Oncology.
