Handi Lift transportation has definitely changed since the original owners started the business and not for the better. When I was picked up for a 20 minute appointment and was supposed to return home 15 miles away only to fimd out that the driver had two other people to pick up which resulted in my ride on the van being over 4 hours long. Not acceptable to me!!! I'm a para-lift so when they send a driver that person should be able to load me into the van by themselves. Recently I was told that I had to provide a person to help load me, then ride with me to my appointment unload me and wait for however it took for me to get home. That is a liability waiting to happen if I were to fall out of my wheelchair or off of the ramp if the driver isn't capable of loading me themselves. I would not recommend them for any transportation.

They have always gotten me where I need to go, as long as I have tons of time. Today was typical: picked me up 50 minutes early for an appointment 5 minutes away (and they hadn't called with a pickup time), and because I didn't know when my appointment would be over I have to wait over an hour to be picked up. The vans are usually clean and the drivers are usually friendly, although the drivers don't often follow the "no food or drinks in the vehicle" rule. I guess I'm glad to have some way to get to and from appointments, but there's a lot of room for improvement. Nobody likes feeling helpless because they're stuck in the doctor's office for an extra hour.
