Established in 1908, Blind Industries and Services of Maryland is headquartered in Baltimore. It is a nonprofit organization that manufactures and supplies innovative rehabilitation services, training and stable employment opportunities to the visually impaired. Every year the organization serves more than 2,000 people in its 10 facilities in Maryland, Delaware and the District of Columbia. Blind Industries offers a variety of training programs that develop self-confidence, independence and a sense of dignity. The organization offers a wide range of products including office paper products, janitorial supplies, cut and sewn products, assembly and packaging, vending services and braille transcriptions. Blind Industries and Services of Maryland also has offices in Salisbury, Cumberland, Beltsville and Gunpowder, Md., Washington, D.C., and Fort Knox, Ky.
