Virginia State Police provides policing services to the residents of the state. It offers bike patrolling, case investigation, gun registration, crime prevention and emergency readiness services to the residents. The department also offers various community services that include licensing, child safety seat inspections, premise surveys and police clearance letters. Virginia State Police is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies. The department is affiliated with Virginia Department of Alcohol Beverage Control, Virginia Department of Health and the International Association of Chiefs of Police. The department has administrative and support services, criminal investigation and field operations bureaus. The department has an office in Culpeper, Va.
