I popped into this store to enquire about a part. I myself fix computers but have not "set up shop" here locally as of yet. There was a customer with a slow hard drive in front of me and she wanted to have the disk replaced, upgraded. The owner had suggested a new computer, but she just really wanted the hard drive replaced. He then offered to do a low level format on her system for $350. I was floored. Low level formats take about 10 minutes to input the information and the disc and the computer and program does the rest. Then you just re-install the operating system. Low level fomats should only be a last resort. I have never charged more than $75 to do a low level format and OS install. The customer left, but I wanted to run after her so bad and offer to help. Needless to say, they didn't have the part I was looking for, so I left. I will not go back there for any reason. Be very wary of spending your money at this store. There are other alternatives that are much cheaper in price.

First off, the owner charges $35 dollars just to "diagnose" your problem. The diagnosis process usually entails him trying to sell you a new computer when you do not need/want one. So, for about 20 min he tries to sell you something and then charges you $35. Last year, my laptop screen frame had broken at the base. He charged me $350 to "fix" it. Much of this cost was supposed to be him buying new replacement parts. Instead, he put on used replacement parts and within 9 months, the frame broke again because he did such a poor job fixing it. A few months later, I had a minor glitch on the same laptop. Even though I didn't want to go back there, I didn't know of any other place around to ask for help. I tried to explain what was wrong w/ the computer and instead of listening, he again immediately tried to sell me a new computer (at a very, very overmarked price!). He also tried to sell me some "Russian anti-virus" program for over $100 and attempted to convince me to use a Linux operatin
