Kyoto is my favorite japanese resteraunt. They cook the food on a giant grill in front of you and the cooks do tricks with the food and make a volcano out of onions. They are very interactive and make it alot of fun. The only thing i dont like about it is you have to sit at a really big table wen you eat at the habachi grill side and then you end up eating with other familys wich can be fun but can also be really annoying.

Absolutely wonderful sushi place that _caters_!

Kyoto House is a wonderful place to have sushi, but did you know they _cater_? I work for National Association of System Administrators (NASA) in Crystal Lake, and the owner has Kyoto House cater the office Christmas party every year. This is a sublime experience. The chef arrives with an assistant and prepares platter after platter of delicious sushi, sashimi, tempura rolls, etc., and we eat until we're stuffed. I thanked the owner profusely for this generous treat, and he said it's actually less expensive to have the party catered by Kyoto House than it would be to take the party to the restaurant. This is the best bargain in town and probably the best kept secret. So, if you need to cater a party, you'll want to give Kyoto House a call.

Good quality for the price

Sushi is excellent, teriayaki dishes are generous though typically salty. You get a nice assortmentof vegetables and a bowl of fried rice with the dish (the menu is quite barren of any type of description). Avoid the house salad, it's a tiny bowl of dripping wet iceberg lettuce. Why do restaurants get away with serving iceberg lettuce?! Service is very good, nice atmosphere. You can sit at a regular table or have them cook in front of you which, if you like that kind of thing, is interesting.Have also heard steaks are very good, but no one in our party ordered one. Would probably go there again.
