What delicious breads, sandwiches, soups, and pastries! This cozy nook in Old Downtown Crystal Lake is a combination cheese-and-wine shop along with an excellent bakery. I love the freshly made sandwiches on bakery bread. My friends like the unusual soups invented by Dawn, the owner, and her son William - curry carrot soup, green soup, pumpkin soup, a new soup every day of the week! Their catering is very reasonable too, I've held three events catered by Dawn's Bread and all my guests loved the gourmet cheeses and rosemary crackers, fresh tomato/turkey/ham sandwiches, and organic wines I served. I currently stop by once or twice a week for lunch, and plan to try out their new monthly first-Friday fish fry too.

This place could use some cleaning. The pastries look so messy and uneven. Even if they tasted great, they look so sloppy that I would never buy them. The place just has a feel of needing a good scrubbing.
