- At Crystal Waters Resort (located 5 miles west of Crystal Falls on US-2, then 1 ½ miles south on Idlewild Road), you can experience the serene northwoods. Located on Fortune Lake, a chain of five beautiful, clean, spring-fed lakes extending over two miles in length, the 5-acre resort features six modern full-housekeeping cottages, all with an unobstructed view of the lake.
General Info
The large metal pier and floating raft are ideal for sun-bathing and diving. You can choose from modern 2, 3, and 4 bedroom cottages, fully equipped with stove, refrig, microwave, dishes, tableware, and cooking utensils. The units are clean and comfortable. Cottages have modern baths with showers, gas heat, TV and VCR. Bedding is furnished. All you have to bring are towels. The cottages are close to the water. Each has a large picture window, patio area, picnic table, lawn chairs, B-B-Q grill and private pier. Each cottage is also equipped with a 14-foot Aluma-craft boat. Fishermen will find excellent fishing for bass, walleye, northern, crappie, rainbow trout, jumbo perch, and assorted pan fish. For your convenience, there is a screened fish cleaning house and freezer in which to store your catch. For the adventurers, there are canoes, kayaks, and paddle boats. The little ones can enjoy the play area with swings and sandbox. For the competitive, there are horseshoes and basketball. Crystal Waters Resort is near golf courses, casinos and stables. Public tennis courts are within walking distance. Nature lovers can enjoy the many waterfalls, hiking trails, museums and parks in the area. Dining opportunities are plentiful and varied. The area is ideal for photographers and nature walkers. The resort is host to the Michi-consin Bird Watch from mid-to-late May. The area provides options for rifle hunters or archers, since there are deer, bear, ruffed grouse, duck, partridge, and turkey. The pure white beauty of Michigan winters is a special treat for sports enthusiasts. Downhill skiers have a choice of either Ski Brule or Pine Mountain, each within 30 minutes. Snowmobilers and cross country skiers can get access to trails nearby. Cottages are rented weekly from Memorial Day to Labor Day, with rates starting at $575 per week depending on cottage selection and number of persons. Off-season rates begin at $500 per week, or may be rented on a daily basis at a minimum of 3 nights, subject to availability. Off-season rate does not include Deer Season. Sorry, no pets.
