My wife and I want to extend a major "thank you" to the men and & women of Covington F.D. Station # 1. On Sunday, September 5, 2010, a young couple we know were holding their wedding and reception across the street at the Carnegie Center. The kitchen equipment at the Carnegie Center malfunctioned and the caterers couldn't finish cooking the wedding dinner. The personnel of Covington Fire Station #1 came to the rescue and allowed the wedding party to finish cooking the dinners at the fire station and transport the dinners across the street. They went above and beyond the "call to duty," and saved what could have been a disaster of a wedding for a young couple and their guests. We want the people of Covington, and elsewhere, to know what caring, and wonderful men and women are serving you and your community. Their actions saved a wedding day and definitely won the hearts and minds of people from as far away as Israel, England, and nine other states. They are truly heroes!
