General Info
Cortland County Historical Society was founded in 1925 and we have been sharing the stories of Cortland County ever since! CCHS is home to both the Suggett House Museum and the Kellogg Memorial Research Center. Our museum contains a gallery of vignettes which highlight the history of Cortland County through the use of objects in our extensive collection. Our research center is home to our archival materials for local history and genealogical research. We are happy to help you discover your roots in Cortland County and to bring your family history to life. You never know what you might find, and that’s the thrill of genealogical research! We are happy to introduce the Then & Now Children’s Room, a hands-on history room within the Suggett House that is just for kids. Antiques and reproductions allow children to step back in time, and our child sized store and log cabin are full of interesting things to explore.
