  Obviously criminal cases do not begin at the first court appearance. They begin with accusations, followed by investigation, perhaps by a grand jury, then they proceed to a charging decision and only then do you find yourself in court pleading not guilty. At our firm we are prepared to become involved from the beginning. It is important to do so because opportunities may present themselves which may benefit the client down the road during the long haul of a criminal defense. It is also important to get involved early because your rights must be protected at every stage of the process, not only after you’ve been charged with a crime.

  Generally speaking we all understand what “fraud” means, the obtaining of something that doesn’t belong to you by means of deception. It includes insurance fraud, healthcare fraud (Medicare/Medicaid), mortgage fraud, securities fraud, the list goes on forever.

  Unfortunately, more often than not, investigations lead to charges being filed. With the number of cases tried by my firm numbering in the hundreds, we are truly in a position to help you.   Of the many cases I have been involved in, none have been more interesting than the case of John J. Connolly, Jr (Right).. John, a highly decorated retired F.B.I. agent, was charged with murder. And he was innocent. I had the honor of being John’s lead counsel, and the pleasure of securing his freedom.

  The crime of money laundering can be as simple as hiding the proceeds of drug transactions for a drug dealer, and if the amount of money is large, the sentence can be severe.
