- Cervical CancerIf you have worries about going back to your doctor in person, try telemedicine (a video chat with your doctor). During a telehealth visit — most run 15 to 20 minutes — you can talk about any changes and your concerns over the last year. From there, your doctor might order blood work and screenings for cancer like a mammogram, colonoscopy, or prostate or cervical cancer tests.

- Lung CancerAnother specialized CT scan offered by Premier Diagnostic is the lung health scan. Lung CTs help diagnose diseases such as pneumonia, bronchiectasis, tuberculosis, inflammation, or chronic obstructive pulmonary diseases. It is especially effective for catching lung cancer at its earliest stage when treatments are most effective. A lung CT is especially recommended for people who smoke now or have a history of heavy smoking.

- UltrasoundUltrasound imaging, or sonography, is a method of seeing inside the human body through the use of high-frequency sound waves. The ultrasound technologist will use a small, handheld device called a transducer. This transducer sends sound waves into the body. The sound waves bounce off of fluid, tissues, and organs at different rates. As they bounce back into the transducer, the computer measures the waves and produces an image. Ultrasound does not expose you to any radiation.
- MRIMRI scanners (Magnetic Resonance Imaging) use a strong magnetic field, radio waves and a computer to create detailed images of organs and other features inside your body

He completed his internship at Erlanger Medical Center in Chattanooga and his residency at the University of Tennessee Center for Health Sciences in Memphis. - Nuclear MedicineNuclear imaging is a diagnostic tool used to accurately visualize the flow and function of different organs of your body. Radiation levels, in most cases, are equal to or less than a routine X-ray or CT examination. Nuclear medicine examinations help a doctor determine if an organ or other tissue is healthy or damaged. The resulting images aid in disease or injury diagnosis and determining adequate treatment. Common procedures that use nuclear imaging include thyroid studies, bone scans, lung scans, gastric emptying and liver and gallbladder procedures.
- MammographyFrom personal experience, I can tell you how important yearly mammography screening is. At the age of 44, there was a small change on my mammogram from the previous year noticed by the radiologist. After further testing and a biopsy, it was confirmed to be breast cancer. But since I had one every year since age 40 for comparison, my cancer was caught early (stage 1) and my survival rate is 95%.
- Computed TomographyCT scans, sometimes called CAT scanning, is one of the imaging services provided by Premier Diagnostic Imaging. CT scans use special x-ray equipment to obtain images from different angles, which are then processed by a computer to show a cross-section of body tissues and organs.
- Radiation TherapyYour doctor might order a CT scan to produce images of specific organs, joints, or tissues inside your body. Many doctors use them to guide procedures, such as biopsies, surgeries, and radiation therapy. They are also used to create treatment plans.
- Radiation OncologyMany cancer clinics are reporting that new patients are showing up with more advanced cancer than those who arrived for treatment before the COVID-19 pandemic, according to a national survey from the American Society for Radiation Oncology (ASTRO).
- OrthopedicsIf your doctor gives you an order for diagnostic medical imaging, you may wonder why they prescribed an MRI or a CT scan. MRI and CT scans are some of the most common types of medical imaging performed. Both procedures provide images of the human body and are used by various medical specialties, like orthopedics and oncology.
