Twin City Knitting Company was founded by Dewey Houston in 1960. The company started by producing men s argyle hosiery, but within two years it began production of stirrup hosiery. Eventually, the knitting company began working exclusively in the sporting goods industry. Twin City Knitting Company operates five plants that manufacture an expanded line of knit socks, knit hats and caps. The company manufactures products for baseball, basketball, football, hockey and soccer. Additional Twin City Knitting products include performance socks, cheerleading socks, wrist bands, head bands, quarter socks and tube logo socks. Twin City Knitting Company is located in Conover, N.C.
