I am surprised at the two negative reviews too. Our son LOVED this place and thrived here. We're sending our daughter here too. It's a great place.
I am quite surprised at the two extremely negative comments posted. My 3 year old grandson has been attending Dixon Academy for approximately 3 months. I find the facility to be clean and safe and totally dedicated to a loving and learning environment for children. Both the daytime and afternoon teachers are wonderful. My grandson has totally changed from a very unhappy little boy at the last daycare establishment he attended to being excited to leave home in the morning so that he can go to "school." I would recommend Dixon Academy to any parent and if you have any concerns, know that you can look in on your child at any time of the day as they have webcams for the parents' peace of mind. Good Job Dixon Academy, keep up the good work and kudos to James S's teachers in the 3YO class.

My child was severely bitten at this school. So much so that he had to receive a tetanus shot!!!!!!!! They do not properly supervise the children. He was only a year old. I was not even called at work and notified. I came to pick up my child who had been mawed by another child. Child welfare was involved in this incident. No appology was even given by the staff or owner.
I do not feel like the teacher's pay enough attention to the children. There is supposed to be a ratio of children to teachers which always seems to be lacking. My child comes home with scratches from other children, bruises, scrapes and with overly soiled pull-ups. When I ask the question of "What happened to his face?" the answer is a shocking.."I don't know" and I find that unacceptable period. Not to mention for a day care that I pay $150.00 a week for. Good example of under standard care, this mornings breakfast consisted of half of a English muffin and apple sauce. Along with they have no toys for the children to play with because they have donated their's and are currently waiting on a grant to purchase some other toys. I caught one of my sons teachers reading a book with her back to the class of at least 15 two year old toddlers while the children are running wild. My son has been going there for a couple months and Ive yet to see any structure in thier daily activities
