Detroit Institute for Children, established in 1920, provides medical and diagnostic assistance and rehabilitation services to children suffering from developmental and physical disabilities. Its areas of expertise include physical medicine, neurology, and child and adolescent psychiatry. The rehabilitation services offered by the center include serial casting, speech and language pathology, and physical and occupational therapies. Its staff includes physicians, therapists, nurses, social workers, psychologists and orthotists. The services offered by the center include psychological testing, psychiatric evaluations and consultation, and medication management and reviews. It also undertakes laboratory studies and provides blood-testing services.
