Disappointing Sunday brunchMy mom and I were excited to check out this place for Sunday brunch. While the wait staff were extremely friendly and the omelettes incredible, the rest of the brunch items were just mediocre. The fruit bowl was nearly empty even though the buffet still had an hour left, and the Belgian waffles were already hard and cold. The Eggs Benedict were also cold and unappetizing. Check it out for its late-night scene perhaps, but I would not do brunch there again.
Union Cafe (Bar + Food) is enjoyed by an eclectic crowd, upscale casual food at mid-range prices, (usually) well-stocked bar and bartenders who actually remember your name. It's like a neighborhood bar with class. I think of it as my hangout (along with several thousand other people, no doubt). Additionally, while it's a gay establishment, everyone is welcomed by the friendly maitre d's and wait staff.
