General Info
I am a plastic surgeon who specializes in breast and sarcoma-extremity reconstruction. Plastic surgery, as a specialty, focuses on restoring form and function to significantly improve quality of life. I really get to know my patients and learn about what each person values in order to form strong patient-physician relationships. It is these interpersonal relationships that make taking care of my patients such a privileg y research interests include combined autologous and prosthetic breast reconstruction, as well as the use of surgical delay for partial mastectomy reconstruction in previously irradiated breasts. I am also interested in maximizing data fidelity in institutional plastic surgery database n addition to my clinical work, I'm an assistant professor in the Department of Plastic Surgery at Ohio State and serve as a member of the education committee for the American Society of Plastic Surgery. I have also co-authored many articles in well-respected publications, including Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and Annals of Plastic Surger ultidisciplinary care is very important when approaching patient with a cancer diagnosis. There are so many modalities and options to consider in the care of these patients, and many of them are not mutually exclusive. The team-based approach that we practice at the OSUCCC - James gives our patients as much information as possible so that they can make the best informed decision. As a physician team member, leaning on my fellow colleagues' skill, knowledge and expertise gives me the greatest confidence that we can offer the best individualized treatment plan for these patients.
