Don't go here. Please do not go. She is talkative, but I can handle that to a degree. But hearing about her cruel husband, that she makes more than, and her rotten teenage child, as well as her older child that she is taking care of while she (the child) tries to find a job in Chicago is a little much. Plus she very openly stated that Medicaid/medicare patients are not worth her time since they seldom show up and when they do, she is paid so little she would just rather not be bothered. I am on Medicaid and she was saying this to me. I had never failed to show up on her. She even complained that her next appointment was late and likely not coming since they were on medicaid. They were due at 11:00 and it was 11:02. They arrived a minute or two later. By the way, I could not see out the contacts. She could benefit from cleaning her office as well. The piles and bags of unopened mail in addition to the stacks of patients charts and files are ridiculous.

She is very friendly. But... I sat in the office listening to her gossiping about her other patients for about 30 minutes before she even began my exam. Then she did not have my history from my previous eye doctor in my file and spent another 5 minutes sorting through piles of papers before finding my doctor's report; she then criticized his handwriting and record keeping, etc. When she finally began the exam, she kept chatting with me as she was performing the checkup, making it very difficult for me to concentrate on the exam, and I imagine making it difficult for her to concentrate, as well. She was very nice but just very unprofessional and unorganized. Not something I'm comfortable with in a doctor.
I've been seeing Dr. Berger for a long time. I always get excellent service and my orders always arrive quickly. I have never had a problem with the care she has provided to me. She's awesome and super friendly.
I have been a patient of Dr. Berger for 20 years. She is the best! When my insurance changed I had to go somewhere else, that optomitrist not only got my rx wrong, he told me there was something else wrong with my eyes. I immediately called Dr. Berger and she got me right in and fixed everything. She is great with me and even better with my children, who are now customers! I love her! Highly recommend her services!
Dr. Vicki Berger is a very personable eye doctor. Yes she is talkative, however I feel this makes the visit, like I said more personable. She is open to tell you about herself and her life and not just a doctor who asks questions to pass the time. Yes, her office is disorganized and cluttered, but believe it or not she knows where your file is everytime and who you are. She did very well at my prescriptions on both my glasses and contacts. I would highly recommend her for someone looking for a good, relaxed, patient and kind doctor. For people who don't care about being known and being personable with their doctors, you should probably find a different doctor. She does the clerical, the handling, and prescribing all to herself and can always easily be called and reached.

Pros: Flexible and usually can get you in quickly. Prices are very good. When you call, you get to talk to her.Cons: Cluttered office. Very talkative. Appt. takes about twice what it should. All interruptions are taken care of by her. Phone, pick ups and deliveries, etc.
