When I decided on getting a new Scion, I knew they did pure pricing and realized I could buy at the same price at any dealership. I was really excited about getting my new car but also wanted to feel like I made the best choice on who to buy it from. I visited several dealerships but never really felt like one stuck out. I had done my research and was apprehensive about going to Toyota Direct after reading several bad reviews. Realizing everyone is unique in their experiences and that people who have bad experiences are usually the ones more apt to writing reviews, I decided to give Toyota Direct a try. I'm so glad I did! When I walked in I was greeted by the manager, Drew, and explained my hesitation on coming in. He seemed fully aware of the negative reviews that had been posted and explained that he had recently come to the dealership to promote a better and more positive experience for customers. I appreciated the fact that he didn't offer excuses, even though the reviews were a few years old, and simply stated that his number one goal was to make his customers happy. After learning I worked for a non profit serving individuals with disabilities, I was happy to hear of their partnership with special Olympics and their overall participation and support of the Columbus community. Although impressed, I always keep my guard up and wasn't ready to make any commitments when it came to buying a car. Drew then introduced me to Greg, one of their salesman. Like I said, I've done my research and after reading several articles and "Confessions of a car salesman" on Edmunds I was eager to secretly analyze what Drew had described as "one of our best salesman". Greg turned out to be a salesman through and through, but not in the way I expected. He was excited and passionate about cars and it was obvious he knew his stuff. I didn't feel pressured at any point in our conversation and when I told him I wasn't yet ready to buy, he didn't make me feel like I was wasted energy. Greg simply stated the facts and I appreciated his honesty and willingness to answer all the questions I had. After taking my experience in and comparing it to all the other dealerships I had dealt with, the decision was simple. I was going to buy from Toyota direct because that is where I was treated with the most respect, had all my questions answered (and I had a ton) and where I knew I could feel good about my experience purchasing my new car. After I had informed Greg of my decision, he made the rest of the process painless and easy. Ashley, who took care of the money side of things, spent extra time scouting out the best options for me and made sure all my questions and concerns were addressed. After I purchased my scion, the manager Drew thanked me for my business and made sure I knew that if I ever had any other questions, concerns or if the non profit I work for could ever use Toyota Directs support in any way to be sure and call him. I consider myself to be very fair, critical and honest and I have learned a lot through this experience. Number one: Do your research Number 2: Know that someone's experience is unique to them, go find out for yourself Number 3: Visit several dealerships but make sure Toyota Direct is one you stop at! I'm so glad I decided to give them a try and recommend them to anyone looking for respect, honesty and a great car buying experience.
