Community Refugee and Immigration Services, also known as CRIS, is an independent agency that serves refugees and immigrants in Ohio. It has more than 70 staff members from over 20 countries. The agency offers acculturation, case management, employment assistance, English language instruction and resettlement services. It also conducts parenting skills classes and provides outreach services for victims of crime and at-risk youth. Additionally, the agency provides interpreters and translators for a variety of languages. Its employment services include job placement, work search and interviewing skills development. Located in Columbus, Ohio, the agency provides special immigration legal services to low- and moderate-income individuals at nominal fees. Community Refugee and Immigration Services also offers several volunteer opportunities and internship programs.
