Established in Virginia in 1926, Appalachian Power Company (APCo) engages in the generation, transmission and distribution of electric power. It serves approximately 959,000 retail customers in the southwestern portion of Virginia and southern West Virginia. The company also supplies and markets electric power at wholesale to other electric utility companies, municipalities and other market participants.
