We had been researching dog adoption for weeks, and were excited when we went to the shelter to meet a dog that we had selected from the website. We met with him, and we were immediately won over. We went ahead with the adoption, and after all the papers were signed (the receptionist clearly was not happy to be there, and was not afraid to show it) we met up with the vet to review the treatments he needed for the next few days. We had expected to get a healthy dog, but instead we were told his neuter had been performed 2 days prior, and he had a dermatitis on the site that had been present prior to surgery and been aggravated even more so afterwards. We were told he would need to take some pain pills, and some antibiotics but that it would be fine. We were also given the last dose of a de-wormer, that had been given to him as a "precaution" but that he had tested negative for worms. Well, two days later his surgery site seemed to be worse, and I ended up having to take him to the vet.

I searched for weeks to find the right pet for my needs. I finally found my little chihuahua who is the best friend you could ever want. I worried about training her but found that she is just so perfect, she is house broken, she has never chewed or torn anything up, and is very obedient and always ready to please. She is always by my side and loves to play and go for walks. She loves to sleep and cuddle with us at night. I never dreamed that I could have found the perfect pet!! I would return to the shelter in the future to find her a playmate. They do such a good job with all the dogs and are very courteous and helpful to the public. I highly recommend anyone to visit and find a friend.
