General Info

Accent on Nature opened in 2006 and grew out of the acquisition of a long-time Grandview Avenue institution Accent on Wild Birds. We continue to build on the former owners passion for collecting a huge array of minerals and fossils, and other items from around the world to offer one of the most unique and extensive collections in the Midwest. In January 2009 we suffered a setback when a devastating fire struck Grandview Ave., destroying our store along with over 20 others businesses. We picked up the pieces and reopened 10 months later at our current location, just across the street from the former site. The store's goal is to go beyond just selling merchandise it is to educate customers on the origin and unique qualities of each specimen. We love to work with teachers and educators to inspire young people to become interested in rocks and fossils, and develop an appreciation for collecting and studying them. We attend rock, mineral & jewelry shows throughout the year where we are able to hand pick great items for the store. We also offer a wide range of items to meet metaphysical, mystic & spiritual needs, as well as the properties of stones and information on their healing and spiritual qualities. We carry pendulums, chakra wands, singing bowls, wall hangings, figurines, and more.In addition to the wonderful collection of minerals, fossils, crystals, meteorites, shells, tumbled stones and cabochons, the store also features sterling silver and gemstone jewelry, much of it made by local artists. Popular local jeweler Bonnie Moseley has been selling and custom designing jewelry with us for a number of years. We have a bird feeding and garden department which carries high quality feed and feeders Droll Yankee, Best for Birds, Songbird Essentials and more.We also carry a nice selection of Woodstock Chimes, Harmony Kingdom Collectibles, framed butterflies, locally made stained glass lamps, incense and smudge sticks, candles, salt lamps, Heartwood boxes, cards, books and many, many more unique home and gift items. In our Childrens section we offer fun and educational items Schleich animals, Folkmanis puppets, Dino dig kits, ant farms, Woodstock musical instruments, crystal growing kits, prisms, gyroscopes and plenty more!e also offer Gift Cards to make gift giving easy for any occasion.

A nature lovers paradise. Collectable rocks, shells, fossils. Imported hand made items, educational.

Their name is deceptive although they sell bird seed, feeders, houses, & care items. They are really a superb naturalist store. Practically a museum of exotic stones, rocks, geodes, crystals, fossils, rare earth metals, like meteorite & raw copper. There are shells of hundreds of sea creatures, including coral. Many hand crafted gift items utilizing the natural materials. Fun and educational toys about nature appreciation. Objects and musical instruments made by living primitive tribes. Rarely recorded music CDs from distant lands. Natural soaps, Hemp cloth products & oils, beads, candles, incense. Meditation chimes, gongs, bells. Wind chimes from table top sized to six foot tall. Small hand held drums & shakers.Miniature plastic animals, dinosaurs, reptiles, & fish. Hand made jewelry. Unique greeting cards. Indian Arrow heads. Rain sticks. Well educated sales people offer useful knowledge about any of the geological and hand crafted items. You can learn something new just by browsing.
