Established in 1879, the Columbus Telegram is a newspaper that serves primarily the eastern and central Nebraska counties of Boone, Butler, Colfax, Merrick, Nance, Platte and Polk. Its content consists of national and local news, sports and advertising. It produces an afternoon edition Monday through Friday and an edition on Sunday mornings. The company also publishes the Telegram Advantage, a classified advertising publication, which is delivered to subscribers and non-subscribers of the Columbus Telegram. The newspaper has an estimated readership of 10,000, and the Telegram Advantage reaches more than 20,000 households. Both the Columbus Telegram and Telegram Advantage are owned by Lee Enterprises and are based in Columbus, Neb.
