Operational for more than 75 years, Open Door Community House is a nonprofit organization that offers a range of community-based services and programs for low- and medium-income individuals and families. It offers case management services and provides assistance with the purchase of household items and furniture, as well as rent and utility bill payments. The organization offers after-school programs; conducts classes in math, reading and GED and organizes recreational and cultural activities. Open Door Community House provides parent training and individual and group counseling services. Additionally, it maintains an auditorium and provides space for family gatherings, wedding receptions, prayer, seminars and banquets. The organization also offers medical care, legal assistance, transportation and advocacy services for senior citizens. Open Door Community House maintains transition homes and provides housing services. It is located in Columbus, Ga.
