General Info

What a name! Eat More Tees was formed in 1992 by Richard Burtz, a local Columbia restaurant owner who grew tired of getting overcharged for t-shirts that took 3 weeks to print. He bought all the equipment he needed and hired an old college buddy, Bruce Singletary, to run the business for him. Bruce agreed and began supplying shirts for Richard. One Friday, Bruce had printed several dozen t-shirts for Monterey Jacks, Richard's largest restaurant. The next day when Richard walked in, almost all of the shirts were gone. Richard couldn't hold back! He said, "What's going on? To buy shirts this fast, they must be eating them!" Immediately, the phrase caught attention and his t-shirt printing business became known as Eat More Tees. In 1997, the ownership changed but our customers became hungrier than ever for our t-shirts. Today, in the world of Eat More Tees, Palmetto Trees have pigtails and pink bows, college loyalties are chosen by the grace of God and SC Natives cannot imagine life without grits. We still bend over backwards to please and impress local area groups and businesses with shirts, caps, tote bags, koozies, jackets and even baseball bats, but, we are having a blast creating a new world where Palmetto trees come in multiple colors, wear visors and look like soda bubbles. Even golf clubs and pineapples can look like a Palmetto tree.
