Running Brook Elementary School serves students in prekindergarten through grade five. Its staff includes several Title I teachers, paraprofessionals, reading and intervention specialists, pathologists, specialists, psychologists and custodians. The school s academic curriculum includes various subjects, such as math, reading and language arts. The school provides extracurricular programs in art, physical education, technology integration, and vocal and instrumental music. In addition, it provides medical care, occupational and speech therapies, and guidance and counseling services. Running Brook Elementary School offers sessions in reading support and media specialization. It also offers the English for Speakers of Other Languages program. Located in Columbia, Md., the school provides several alternative and special education programs. It is a part of Howard County Public School System, which operates several elementary, middle and high schools.
